New BeginningsCome, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker; for He is our God and we are the people of His pasture, the flock under His care. (Psalms 95:6-7). Lord God, Maker of Heaven and Earth, I exalt You. You are holy and loving, beautiful and perfect, faithful and true. What an honor it is to be in Your presence. What an awesome privilege it is to be Your child. As we look back at time already passed, may we learn from our mistakes, and give You the glory for our accomplishments. We know that as Your children, it is only by Your strength, grace and mercy that we are able to live. We know that it is only through Your Holy Spirit that we are able to live for You. And we are so thankful that the blood of Jesus enables us to live eternally forgiven. We are so grateful for the many blessings You poured over our lives this year. Many times Your mighty arms carried us through the valleys. Often Your righteous hand led us along life’s paths. So many beautiful times, You held us close, and we danced. You never once left us alone, and we thank You. Help us, Father, to fix our eyes on Your face as a new year begins. We long to know Your ways, and we desire to walk in Your steps. Give us Your eyes to see the beauty in this world. Fill us with Your Spirit every minute of every day, so that we may speak words that bless and encourage others. We want to live holy lives, and shine for You, Father. May we remember that the promises in Your Word were written for us. Help us to believe them, hide them in our hearts, and claim them. Give us a hunger for Your Word, and enable us to understand It. Remind us, Lord, that another day is a gift. May we honor You, and be ever-mindful of our purpose in this temporary life. Renew our hearts and equip us to be Your servants for the new year. We are Your people, Lord, and we humbly bow before You. Thank you for loving us, and for even considering us worthy. For it is in the precious, holy name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that we ask these things, amen. Ever so thankful, Alison |
