"My hope in writing is to glorify Jesus Christ, and to encourage you to love Him with all of your heart. I pray that you get a glimpse of the Father through these words and devotions. My desire is for heart-strings to be tugged and souls to be searched as I express my adoration for Jesus."

The Covenant

Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart. (Psalm 37:4).

When God opens the door for new ministries to begin, you know that He will carry them through to completion. He will gather and call the "workers", as well as send the "seekers". He will bless it for His glory.

The air was crisp, and the sun was shining down on the church that January morning. The ladies hustled from the parking lot into the warmth of the Fellowship Hall, where they began to prepare for the guests to arrive. Their anticipation was almost tangible, as God had called them some nine months earlier to begin this new ministry for the women of the church. And true to God's unfailing word, He was in its midst. They had asked the Lord to guide them, and to bless their work. They asked Him to anoint it and to send the ladies to participate. And when the Lord proved faithful, their love for Him grew stronger. But on that cold morning, none of them were prepared for what God had in mind.

He was going to send them one last confirmation.
He planned to delight them, and to knock their socks off.
He literally showed them His splendor. Literally.

One of the ladies was outside on the sidewalk, right in front of the Fellowship Hall. She was whispering a prayer of Thanksgiving to her Lord as she felt the sun kiss her face. Opening her eyes, and looking up towards Heaven, she saw a wondrous sight. There, suspended in the heavens, directly above the building, was a cross. It was as if Jesus himself had taken his finger and inscribed it in the sky. White and feathery, there it hung.

With her heart pounding, the lady quickly motioned for her friend to come and see what her eyes beheld. Soon all eight of the women were there, sharing in the miracle and praising God. To them, this was a sure sign from the Father. He loved them, and wanted to remind them why they were called to serve Him. The cross took their eyes away from their tasks, and refocused them on their Savior. God reassured their hearts, and within five minutes, the cross was gone.

The morning was wonderful. Hearts were shared, and God was glorified. Friendships were made, and fellowship was good. Yet the most amazing part of the entire time was not the obvious. And though it was incredible to share the sight of the cross in the sky, even that was not the most miraculous part. What could possibly be better or more edifying than these? Jesus showed up.

He spoke through testimonies, and He sang in an angel's voice.
He laughed and cried through tears of joy and heartache.
He showed up, and He was pleased.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled ( Matthew 5:6).
