"My hope in writing is to glorify Jesus Christ, and to encourage you to love Him with all of your heart. I pray that you get a glimpse of the Father through these words and devotions. My desire is for heart-strings to be tugged and souls to be searched as I express my adoration for Jesus."

Love Before Birth

With Valentine's Day approaching, we are reminded of those who are dear to our hearts. As Christians, we are reminded daily of God's love for us through our relationship with Jesus. A dear friend of mine shared a story that she wrote with me, and I wanted to pass in along to you. This is from Kim's heart to yours.

Many people believe in love at first sight. However, God believed in love before birth:

Isaiah 44:2
"I am your Creator. You were in my care before you were born."

God loved us so much that He sacrificed His only Son for us. Jesus was beaten, nailed to the cross and died to forgive us, the unworthy, of our sins.

John 3:16
"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."

Jesus IS in love with us and we need to be in love with Him too. No one in our lives will ever love us as much as Jesus does and we should never love anyone more than we love Him. Jesus is so worthy of our love. He provides us with all of our needs, from the air we breathe to the Heavens promised up above. He knows our past, He is in control of our present and He has already planned our futures for us.

John 14:2
"In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you."

We must love Jesus and live the lives that He wants us to live so that we can be reunited with Him in Heaven. Every day we need to show Jesus how very much we love Him and the one way we can do that is "quiet time." A mere 15 minutes of "quiet time" a day with Jesus can make such a huge difference in our lives.

With Valentine's Day approaching, let us remember this: Valentine's Day is a day we celebrate the one we love. Let us each remember the One who loves us the most and allow us to take the time this Valentine's Day (and every day) to spend some "quiet time" with Jesus.
