Preparing For Advent:
The Christ Candle/
Week 5 - December 25th
As we light the final and most precious candle of the Advent wreath, we praise you, Lord Jesus. You are the gift of hope, peace, joy, and love promised to us. You are the Light of the World, the Messiah, and the Breath of Heaven. You are the One who was wrapped in flesh to dwell among us. To imagine you leaving your holy throne in Heaven, and stepping into this world, just for us, is almost too much for our minds to comprehend. Yet our hearts know that you were born that Christmas so long ago, so that we could be born-again as new creations thousands of years later.
We bow at your feet this day, Lord, as the shepherds did when they found you lying in the manger. We rejoice in your birth as the angels did that Christmas night! We humbly bring to you the gift of our hearts.
