My Heart's Home...The Rooms of Your Life
... He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. (Philippians 1:6)
One day I heard a knock at my door,
Afraid to answer, my soul engulfed with sin;
But there You stood, persistent yet gentle,
So cautiously I allowed You to come in.
Your eyes were so gentle and glistened with tears
As I fell to my knees in relief;
What a beautiful sight to see You there,
As Your hands removed the veil of unbelief.
You picked me up and brushed me off,
And led me to a chair;
There we sat, arm in arm,
Just My Savior and me there.
As He looked around the rooms of my heart,
He gazed intently and showed me His will;
"I have come to make My home here,
In every corner, with My Spirit, I shall fill.
My light shines in the shadows and darkness,
Nothing hides, not the present or past;
But we'll work on one room at a time, Dear One,
I will restore and rebuild at last."
Oh, Lord, as for me and my house,
We will serve only You.
You are the guest in every place;
Take the key and unlock what needs to be seen,
Clean the mirrors to reflect Your face.
Fill the bowl with fruit,
Hang the bell pull low,
Please put the oil in the lamps to see;
Open the gifts on the mantle,
Clean out the trunk,
Make this temple beautiful to be.
Come into each room of my heart's home,
Make yourself comfortable here;
Look around and help yourself,
Come and stay awhile,
Lord Jesus, You are welcome here.
Renovating and Redecorating,
Alison
