Jesus the Center of the Universe
You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created, and have their being. (Revelation 4:11).
From the heart of Jesus:
In the beginning, I laid the foundations of the heavens and the earth. I splashed the thirsty ground with paint drops of color. I spoke every creature into existence and carved out a home for each one. The universe is the work of my hands, and the result of my spoken word. I flung the stars in place and named them each, one by one. All things hold together and are sustained in me. And you, my Child, were made in my image. My fingerprints can be traced on you heart and soul. All of creation was made to reflect my glory, and you are the treasure of my handiwork.
A thankful response:
We light this first Advent candle today to represent Jesus as the Core of the universe. As we begin this journey of hope and expectation, may we prepare our hearts for the coming of our Creator King. Help us, Lord, to see your beauty in all creation with grateful hearts. So often we miss life's splendor because we are preoccupied with its flaws. Remind us to be ever awe-struck at your handiwork, and to never tire of praising you, El Elohim.
