Local MissionsInasmuchAnd [Jesus] shall answer..."inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me". (Matthew 25:40) A ministry of Chapin Baptist Church that is intended to meet financial, physical, and spiritual needs of individuals within the church, in Chapin, or in nearby communities. This ministry can provide everything from a ride to the doctor to help with an electric bill to simple handyman assistance around the house. This ministry is also the catalyst for Chapin Baptist's participation in the annual Community Day of Caring. Contact DeeDee Ashley through the church office at 345-3477. Project Clothe-A-ChildThis ministry culminates on a Saturday before school starts. Volunteers meet at a local department store and help families shop for new school clothes. $100 worth of new clothes are provided for over 100 children. We are able to share the Good News to the children and other family members. This effort is a church-wide event bringing together members of all ages of our church family together for ministry. Project Angel TreeThis ministry running from November through December helps to make Christmas a little bit better for children whose parent(s) are incarcerated. We let them know that they haven't been forgotten and share with them the love of Jesus Christ. We are able to share the Good News to the children and other family members. This effort is a partnership between Chapin Baptist and Prison Fellowship Minstries. Operation Christmas ChildSends a message of hope to children in desperate situations around the world through gift-filled shoeboxes and Christian literature. This program provides an opportunity for individuals of all ages to be involved in a simple, hands on missions project that reaches out to the suffering children all over the world. ChristGateChristgate Family Home is an outreach ministry developed to reach out in Christian love to provide a residential life-recovery and training center for single women with or without children. The principal residence is a 4400 sq. ft. building, which can comfortably house up to six families with private family sleeping quarters, communal family room, kitchen, dining, bathrooms, and laundry room. We Care CenterA local interfaith outreach ministry that provides food, clothing, household funishings, and emergency assistance to some of our community's most needy. Habitat for HumanityAn international, non-profit Christian housing program that is dedicated to eliminating poverty housing and homelessness. Through volunteer labor and donations, the Habitat works with families in need to build simple, decent housing. The houses are sold to families at no profit and are financed with affordable, no-interest mortgages. North American MissionsThen I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?" And I said "Here am I. Send me!" (Isaiah 6:8) MissionFugeGeared toward providing a youth mission experience, MissionFuge offers opportunities in hands-on ministries. Participants may help with neighborhood bible schools, with cleaning or repairing homes of the elderly or disabled, with community projects, etc. MissionFuge also provides worship and discipleship opportunities for the participants. International MissionsTherefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19) BotswanaThis is a construction, and evangelism mission. BrazilWe typically partner with other churches from around the Southeast and in Brazil to construct a simple brick church in just three days. More important than building the church, however, is building relationships with the people of the communities we serve - through free clothing giveaways, a simple children's ministry, and shared smiles and hugs. Upon completion, we will dedicate the new church in a joint celebration with our Brazilian brothers and sisters. You will be taught all you need to know on the job site. MoldovaOnce a simple medical mission, the Moldova mission trip has evolved into a far-reaching effort to minister to the elderly, the orphans, the street people, and the young victims of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster in this small, East European country. Contact Dot and Ernie Nivens through the church office at 345-3477. RussiaTeams trip to Khabarovsk, Russia to meet with and minister to the business management community. TaiwanTeams trip to Taipei, Taiwan to meet with and minister to the business management community. Teams work with local Chinese business ministries and the Chamber of Commerce. Members of the team make brief presentations in order to initiate and build meaningful personal relationships. There are other opportunities to join up with the Lexington Baptist Association for additional trips to Taipei. These trips focus on Kindness, Prayerwalking, and street drama ministries.
