You are going to get married. If you're reading this information, you are concerned about how you can have a good marriage that will last the test of time after the new wears off and you both settle into your commitment to each other. The best way to begin a good marriage is to begin by:
Preparing for Marriage God's Way
The premarital counseling experience will enable you to:
- Assess your marital readiness
- Know the other person for what he/she really is
- Uncover any current problems and pinpoint future ones
- Understand the solutions for both current and future difficulties
- Develop communication and conflict resolution skills
- Prevent future heartache
- Prepare for a satisfying, fulfilling and God-honoring marriage
This program requires 13 sessions that are done over a period of 26 weeks (6 months) so it is important that you plan this time into your wedding planning schedule.
Each session is a combination of skill learning and couple counseling and requires approximately 1½ hours per session.
The cost of these sessions, is negotiated with the counselor individually and is determined using a sliding scale fee schedule. Contact BJ Phillips through the church office at 345-3477.
