Mission

The mission of Celebrate Recovery is to fellowship and celebrate God's healing power in our lives through eight recovery principles that are based on the Beatitudes. This experience allows us to be changed. We open the door by sharing our experiences, strengths, and hopes with one another. The recovery continues as we become willing to accept God's grace in solving our life problems.

By working and applying these Biblical principles, we begin to grow spiritually. We become free from our addictive, compulsive, and dysfunctional behaviors. This freedom creates peace, serenity, joy, and most importantly, a stronger personal relationship with God and others. As we progress through the program we discover our personal, loving, and forgiving Higher Power - Jesus Christ.

Welcome to an amazing spiritual adventure!

Checklist for Symptoms of Alcohol and Chemical Dependency

If you answer yes to two or more of the questions below, you probably have trouble with alcohol or drugs. Celebrate Recovery does not promise to solve your life's problems, but we can show you how we are learning to live without alcohol or drugs. With the help of Jesus Christ, we stay away from that first drink.

  • Need a drink to get over a hangover?
  • Like to drink alone?
  • Lie about, cover up or make excuses while or after drinking?
  • Drink to relieve stress, fear, shyness, or insecurity?
  • Have you ever decided to stop drinking and/or using for a week or so, but only lasted for a couple of days?
  • Do you wish people would mind their own business about your drinking and/or using?
  • Have you switched from one kind of drink or drug to another in the hopes that this would keep you from losing control?
  • Has your drinking or using caused trouble at home?
  • Do you tell yourself that you can stop drinking or using any time you want to even though you keep getting inebriated when you don't mean to?
  • Do you ever try to get extra drinks or drugs at a party because you did not get enough?

Road to R E C O V E R Y

Realize that I am not God. I admit that I am powerless to control my tendency to do the wrong thing and my life is unmanageable. (Step 1)

Happy are those who know they are spiritually poor. (Matthew 5:3)

Ernestly believe that God exists, that I matter to Him, and that He has the power to help me recover. (Step 2)

Happy are those that mourn, for they shall be comforted. (Matthew 5:4)

Consciously choose to commit all my life and will to Christ's care and control. (Step 3)

Happy are the meek. (Matthew 5:5)

Openly examine and confess my faults to God, to myself, and to another person I trust. (Step 4 and 5)

Happy are the pure in heart. (Matthew 5:8)

Voluntarily submit to any and all changes that God wants to make in my life. (Step 6 and 7)

Happy are those whose desire is to do what God requires. (Matthew 5:6)

Evaluate all my relationships; offer forgiveness to those who have hurt me and make amends for harm that I have done to others when possible, without expecting any reward. (Step 8 and 9)

Happy are the merciful. (Matthew 5:7)

Reserve a daily time with God for self-examination, Bible reading, and prayer in order to know God and His will for my life and gain the power to do it. (Step 10 and 11)

Yield myself to be used by God to bring this good news to others, both by example and by my words. (Step 12)

Happy are those who are persecuted because they do what God requires. (Matthew 5:10)

Girlfriends Mentoring Ministry

Mission Statement: To encourage all women in their walk with Christ through support, discipleship and friendship. The scriptural foundation is Titus 2:3-5, where we are told to teach and guide the next generation of Christian women in how to live the life of a godly woman in Christ.

This is a ministry of Women Supporting Women. All women of Chapin Baptist Church are invited to participate in this ministry.

A "mentor" will be a woman who is a practicing Christian, having the desire to let her life be an example and godly role model. She is not perfect, nor is she a Theologian! She simply wants to encourage and support another woman in her walk with Christ, sharing her life experiences.

A "mentee" will be a woman who is younger in her walk with the Lord, and wishes to have another Christian woman encourage and disciple her. Whether she is a new Christian, or wants to grow closer to God at this time, having a spiritual mentor for support is her heart’s desire.
