CHURCH MEMBERSHIP
Membership is a biblical implication of belonging to a church where we can grow in our faith and spread the Gospel throughout the world. One clear picture the Bible gives us of church membership is found in 1 Corinthians 12. Paul explains we are all members of one body, the church, in which Christ is the head. Members are important parts of the body, and each has an important role to fulfill.
BECOMING A MEMBER
All prospective members are required to complete a Membership Class that meets for three consecutive Sundays at 9:45 am. The Membership Class is designed to tell the Chapin story, clarify the Gospel, introduce church doctrine, set expectations for all church members, and answer any questions you may have. Whether you’ve been a member of a church all your life, or you have just received Christ as your Lord and Savior, you will be richly blessed by being a part of this class.
Following the Membership Class, prospective members meet with an elder to share their faith story and previous church experience, confirm their understanding of and belief in the gospel of Jesus Christ, provide a thorough personal and doctrinal conversation between them and their elder and ensure their familiarity with the church before affirming their interest in membership.
We would love to talk with you about what it means to follow Christ and join the Chapin Baptist family! For more information on the next Membership Class, email info@chapinbaptist.com.
