2025 Kid's Bible Reading Challenge

This past year, our Grove Kids were encouraged to increase their Bible reading with a monthly challenge to read one to two verses every day. Our goal was to increase the amount of time we spend in God’s word.  I heard such great feedback from parents whose children participated consistently. This year, I think we should step up our game!

This year, I’m encouraging families to read the Bible in a year. The Bible I am suggesting is The Day by Day Kid’s Bible.

Here’s why I’m suggesting it:

• This Bible is condensed. No long genealogies, heavy repeated laws, violence or sexual content.
• It includes the Psalms. (Many children’s Bibles do not.)
• This is designed to be read in about 7 minutes each day.
• Children with a 2nd grade reading skill can read this on their own.

I read a study a few years ago that surveyed young adults who stayed in the church after they left their parents homes. The biggest influencer for young adults not walking away from the church once they reached independence was that the Bible was read consistently in their homes. Let’s start the practice now of letting God’s word do His work in the hearts of our children.

WHO WE ARE

Our Children’s Ministry is known as The Grove and serves children ages 6 weeks to 6th grade. We provide a safe place with loving, godly caregivers and teachers who offer sound Biblical teaching. 

• Preschoolers experience a creative and fun way to learn about Jesus, through music, games, activities, and Bible stories. 
• Kindergarten – 4th Grade children are engaged in activities and Bible lessons designed to help them grow in their faith, as they develop a deeper understanding of God’s Word. This often causes them to become excited about sharing their knowledge of God’s Word. 
• 5th Grade – 6th Grade is our pre-teen ministry that we affectionately call RISE. Students are exposed to an exciting learning environment where they have the opportunity to dig more deeply into Biblical truths. We pray that they will believe and accept these Biblical truths which will cause them to develop a faith firmly rooted in our God. You and your children will be greeted by a friendly front desk volunteer where they will check in and be led to an age-appropriate classroom. 

Sunday Mornings

• 9:45 am Sunday School, Nursery and Preschool classes   
• 11:00 am Kid’s Worship, Nursery and Preschool classes 
• 11:00 am RISE students in 5th and 6th grade attend worship in the main Worship Center with their families.
• *If your child attends Sunday School at 9:45 am and stays for 11:00 am Kids Worship, they will be walked to the TreeHouse (children’s worship center) by their teacher. If your child only attends 11:00 am Kids Worship, after they are checked in, they will walk down the hall to the TreeHouse. There will be leaders available to escort you and your child when you attend for the first time. 

Sunday Evenings

• 6:00 pm - RISE Students in 5th and 6th grade meet for fellowship, games, and a Bible study.
